Rainy days are much more fun, with loads of activities for toddlers and little folk to do at home. So turn of the TV, get creative, and start having fun with your little dynamo! Finger Paints Build a cardboard carton Maze. Slime (Mix 2 cups of Cornflour (cornstarch) to 1 cup of water, and a few drops of food colouring) Make musical instruments out of household recyclables. Play Dough Uncooked Play Dough 2 cups of plain flour 4 tablespoons of 'cream of tartar' 2 tablespoons of cooking oil 1 cup of salt 2 cups of boiling water food colouring Just pop it all in a mixing bowl and mix! Try adding bits and pieces like glitter and sand to make it even more fun! Bake a cake together (or biscuits, or a yummy slice!) Dance, to home made music, or just to music in general. Play in the sandbox, undercover. Make an obstacle course with cushions and chairs, crawl under and over and through! Create a story book, maybe use photos of people you know! Organise photos into albums and talk about the people in them Make a macaroni necklace. Marble paint (put marbles in icecream containers with some poster paint, then roll them over a big piece of cardboard) String paintings (same as the marbles, except drag some string) Create puppets, use things like dishmops, wooden pegs, stockings, anything you can imagine! Hold a concert with homemade instruments! Rainy days dont have to be spent in front of the games centre or TV Children Remember our Presence, not our Presents.
