Making the most of Nits

By: Mad Cow

School is well and truly back for the year and the Annual Nit Fest is well and truly under way.

You know that time of year, where The Nits have successfully infiltrated the school and are doing the rounds? Leaping from one child's head to another. Never actually going, despite the good intentions of the parents and the assurances that "his hair is clean!"

Do not despair! You can make the most of The Annual Nit Fest. You can turn it to your advantage and actually get some Relaxation Time!

Research, for years, has gone on and on about the benefits of having pets at home - the patting and stroking of your pet relaxes you and has proven, positive effects on stress and reduces heart disease.

You can turn your kids into the same sort of relaxation technique - A recommended Nit Treatment is to get a bottle of really cheap conditioner, smother your kids' head in it and spend hours combing it with a find toothed comb.

Grab a chilled chardy, put on a good movie, and sit there combing your kids hair for a good couple of hours. It can relax you, reducing stress. If you can swing it, get your kids or hubby to do the same for you.

Imagine that, sitting and relaxing while someone combs through your hair for several hours? Aaahhhh, bliss.

Then theres the chemical treatments, the one that blast the nits and lice to death (or you can use the non-chemical ones, either way, the stress reducing effect is the same)

These require a good head massage and a leave in for 10 mins or so. Pop it on your kids head and have them sit in the bath with it on. You don't want it to go everywhere!

Your kids will be forced to stay in the bath for longer - how much work, relaxing, TV watching can you do in this time? Give it a go, you'll be amazed at what you can acheive!

Then there's you. It does say on the bottle that you need to treat the whole family!

"Um, look, sorry kids, Mummy just has to lie in the bath reading a book for, oooh, half an hour minimum. Yeah, sorry, she's got that nit stuff in her hair and, well, you know the rules .... We don't want it to spread, do we?"

Being a Mum, its probably essential that you treat your hair at least once a week, if not more often.

For added Nit Treating Effect, you may also like to add some nice Bath Milks to the bath, grab a good book and a nice chardonnay.

You can even use the "Oh, its just precautionary" to keep this Relaxation Time going for months.
