Holiday Bridal Shower

By: Melissa Khalinsky

For many couples starting out, they may not have decorations and accessories to celebrate the holidays. They will get many items for their home, but not for the holidays. A holiday shower can be a lot of fun.

A Christmas shower is great for someone getting married just before or just after Christmas, and an Easter Shower is perfect for the March bride.

The aim of this shower is to stock up the bride with everything she and her husband will need to celebrate the holidays. You could choose one holiday, or include all holidays.

Some ideas of gifts could include:

- Wrapping paper
- Cards
- Decorations
- Platters (Christmassy ones, or cake platters for birthdays)
- Party supplies - serviettes, paper plates, etc
- Birthday candles
- Easter Eggs
- Table decorations
- Balloons
- And many more!

Depending on where you are, you could also include regional holidays, such as the Melbourne Cup.

The couple may also celebrate other religious holidays, such as Chanukah, or they may not celebrate particular holidays.

When inviting guests, let them know what holidays you are including and that you have a list of suggested gifts. You may want to speak to the bride about what holidays she and her groom celebrate.

Decorations for this shower are easy. Dust off your Christmas and other holiday decorations and put them up. Serve holiday fare - such as Christmas cake, mince pies, Easter eggs, and so on.

If you are having a Christmas shower, consider holding it at the bride-to-be's house and decorate the tree as you go!
