Arriving at your parties – stress free!

By: Melissa Khalinsky

As a consultant, there are many things to remember to take with you to your parties, including your stock! With a bit of planning, you can arrive at your parties cool, calm and collected and ready to go.

Where possible, when you come home from a party, go through your kit and replace any items that may have been used up or sold. This way your kit will be ready for your next party.

The night before your party, double check your kit and make sure you have everything you need. If your parties vary slightly or a lot from one another, this is especially important as it gives you the opportunity to add any items you may need.

When you are starting out, it is important to write a check list for yourself of all the items you need to take with you for every type of party. This may be the make up you need for colour classes, bowls and other items you need to make a cake, or the cleaning products for cleaning a car. Include any additional items, such as pens, order forms, recruiting brochures, catalogues, and specials.

If you take stock with you, ensure you pack that too. After each party, it is worth doing a quick stock take so this is always up to date, and you can replace any stock that has been sold.

Before you leave for the party, work out how you are going to get there, even if you have been there before. Invest in the latest street directory to make sure the place you are going is listed, especially if the area you are in has a number of new estates being built. Check the street directory and plan your journey before you get in the car.

Leave plenty of time to get to your party, especially if you need to get petrol on the way, or there is the chance of road works or heavy traffic. It is better to arrive a little early rather than be late. If you think you are going to be late, ring your hostess and let her know.

With a little planning, you can arrive at your party cool, calm and collected and ready for a great time.
