1. Sleeping! All babies need regular sleep during the day. By getting your baby into a routine of sleep and play times, it helps you plan your work day around their sleeps. As they get more predictable, you will also be able to arrange meetings around their sleeps. 2. Play times Babies don't need you to play with them all the time. Most books and information says that when they first wake up, play with them, and then give them some independent play time. During this play time, you can do some tasks that don't require a lot of concentration - such as stuffing envelopes, folding brochures, checking message boards, etc. 3. Networking I don't know anyone who won't stop to admire a baby. At a recent market night, I had my baby with me. People would stop at my table to admire him, giving me the chance to tell them about my business. 4. Promotion Purchase bibs and other baby items with your logo and business name on them. When people admire your baby, they will see your logo and business name and ask about them. If they don't ask at that stage, they may remember when they see other promotions you are doing. 5. Time Out We all know it is important to take breaks during the day. Having a baby in the house gives you enforced breaks from the computer or other business tasks so you can feed them, play with them, change nappies, and so on.
